The town of Pec was a major religious center of medieval Serbia. Pec became the seat of the Serbian Orthodox Church under the Serbian Tsar Stefan Dušan in 1346. Pec retained this status until 1766, when the Patriarchate of Pec was abolished. |

Gradac Monastery was built in the style of the Raska School but with certain Gothic architectural influence. Few frescoes have survived are similar in style to those of the Sopocani Monastery. Gradac Monastery is functioning as a nunnery, now. |
